If you live in Nova Scotia and listen to the radio often, you must have likely heard a radio jingle for East Side Mario’s regarding kids eating free on Sundays and Mondays. I must have been hearing this jingle for many months now and it’s one of my son’s favourites adverts, he’s been asking that we visit because of the deal. Anyways, I explained to him that for kids to eat free, an adult must have to purchase food and I’m not a fan of regular eat-outs.
Anyways, last Sunday, I decided to take my children because we were going to start Ramadan fast the next day and it’s a month where we engage in more religious activities, so I just thought to treat the kids a day before we commence Ramadan fast.
I actually thought, if an adult buys food, then the kids can eat free (regardless of how many kids). I was wrong, the number of adult that buys food is the number of kids that would eat free (which makes economic sense), so if 1 adult buys food, then 1 kid eats free. An adult must purchase at least $14.95 worth of food to qualify for a kid’s free meal.
Anyways, I ordered pasta and meatballs, which they tagged Mario’s Spaghettini & Meatballs and my kids choose burger, chips and salad for the corresponding free kid’s meal. The kid’s meal had 2 burgers which they shared, we also shared the pasta and meatballs. They gave us a complimentary bowl of ceaser salad (I think for everyone), as I saw that almost on all the tables. They also had 2 free loaves of bread. All of these for $14.99 plus tax.
They also gave the kids colouring papers and packs of crayons. The kid’s meal comes with a free drink so I bought the second drink. Just incase you didn’t know, you can request for water in a cup in a restaurant which was what I did (I didn’t know this before).
PS: the kid’s free meal is valued at $7:99.
Hence, I would highly recommend this Sunday and Monday deal at East Side Mario’s.
Their customer service was also impeccable. However, it was quite busy, we had to wait for about 5 minutes to get a table and there were 2 other families behind us. I guess everyone loves freebies.
We then took a stroll to Scotiabank Theatre which is opposite East Side Mario’s for the kids to have more fun at the fun arcade there.
I hear some other restaurants in Halifax offer special deals and offer complimentary kids’ meals on certain days.
