Muheez Olayinka Bello is a trained lawyer called to the Nigerian bar in the year 2003. Educated at the Lagos State University, the Nigerian Law School and School of Management, Geneva-Switzerland, he has attended many leadership and management courses/Conferences in Europe, Africa, America and other parts of the world, delivering papers on capacity building, youth empowerment and road safety.

Muheez’s passion for justice, fairness and equity dates back to his days at the University. Whilst still a student at the Lagos State University, young Muheez developed interest in civil liberties and human rights, campaigning and fighting for the rights of the oppressed within and outside the school. This will later prepare and earn him an award presented by the Late Legal luminary and legendary human rights activist, Chief Gani Fawehinmi of blessed memory with the 2002 Prize for Civil Liberties Literature.

Fresh out of the Nigerian Law School, Muheez Bello cut his teeth with some of Nigeria’s topmost law firm, gaining experience in litigation and solicitors work. In 2006, he became a Partner in Bello and Odeleke,a firm of Barristers and Solicitors. In this period, he pioneered green-fields of law practicein entertainment law telecommunication law and electric-power sector law. He has advised top rated Nigerian artists like Eldee The Don, Kafi, Sasha P, Tuface Idibia amongst others.

A golden fish hardly ever finds a place to hide they say. In 2007, he was appointed as a Special Assistant to the commissioner of sports, Prince Ademola Adeniji-Adele. During this time, Muheez Bello used his position to expand the frontiers of youth development, formulating policies and advising government on suitable developmental programs for the state youth population. As an Advisor to the commissioner of sports, he was part of the team that spearheaded a public-private partnership model for sports development in Lagos State. His work on the development of youth and sports in Lagos State soon attracted the attention of the Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola, who then appointed him into the Governor’s office as Secretary of special committee of student affairs. In this office, Muheez led the effort that produced the first annual Lagos State leadership lecture for students. He also designed and implemented the first Lagos State internship program providing opportunities for students in tertiary institutions to enjoy internship position in organization relevant to their course of study.

Muheez Bello, a hardworking citizen that embraces challenging tasks and opportunities with equanimity did not hesitate to take the opportunity to work in a global energy company when the chance presented itself. He was immediately hired as a Government Relations Adviser to one of the leading energy corporations in the world. He has since been promoted from one leadership position to the other. His job in the energy giant as an Advisor equipped him with the opportunity to further understudy Government Corporate Relations and the appliance of global best practices. This experience has enhanced his knowledge of development economics. He is sufficiently knowledgeable to design and implement public policies for the greater good of the people of Epe.

Muheez’s interest in social, economic and youth development is sterling. He is the promoter and Co-founder of the Lagos International Career Fair where he mentors young people on leadership and entrepreneurship. Based on his antecedents, he has proven to have sufficient people passion to function at the highest level in public service as an elected official. He is very comfortable amongst young and humble in the midst of his elders. We believe that we have found a perfect match for the leadership task ahead in the pursuit of the vision to make Epe great. A recipient of many awards and accolades, Muheez enjoys reading and writing on business and politics at his leisure.

Muheez Bello is a family man with good values and enjoys spending time with his lovely wife, Monsurat and his three beautiful children; Maryam, Mazeedat and Mutaal.
